House prices on Crete range from £15,000 for a two-bedroom traditional village house in need of complete renovation to £50,000 for a renovated village house with courtyard. New build houses in their own grounds start from £65,000, and rise to £160,000 for a typical four-bedroom, two-bathroom luxury villa with swimming pool.
The buying process is similar to the UK but there are a few quirks to be aware of:
